The horses at Tathren Stud; whether they be School horses[1], School horses[2], Show Horses, Race Horses or broodmares are specifically chosen based on their TEMPERAMENT..and suitability to the position they will undertake at Tathren Stud.

We endeavour to breed the best of temperaments, and to provide the young horse with lots of training and socialisation before it begins its saddle career as a School, Show, or Race horse.

This allows them to be able to cope in many situations that arise.

We have chosen bloodlines based on the best Crabbet Arabians we can source...and these are most evident in our Stallions; Gleniph Sovanity and Tathren Strong Persuader. Many of our horses also draw upon very well known Thoroughbred and Pony lines as well.

We aim to breed a horse that will excel at Halter in its younger years, be a very successful Saddle horse, or Racehorse in its competitive years....and then to go on and impart its wisdom and education as a valued member of our riding school. A tall order some may say.....but enjoy the following horse pages..and take note of how many different roles these horses have performed or are performing throughout their lives.
