LEASING SCHOOL HORSES:
 
We now offer our established pupils the chance to lease a school horse for an hour, a day, a weekend,a week, a month or on a permanent shared lease with our riding school. This is the perfect opportunity to either practise what you learn in your lessons,or to form a bond with a particular horse, or to see if you are ready to have your own horse! All leased school horses will be fully maintained here at Tathren Stud; and pupils will have the chance to use all our wonderful facilities including the arena, round yard and on site trails. All leased horses will the have the use of a saddle, bridle,saddle cloths, gel pads, halter,grooming equipment, lead,fly mask and rugs for the season. Prices start at $50 for an hour casual lease; up to $175 per week for a permanent shared lease. Rarely does an opportunity like this come along. "Chiltern Vale Topaz" is a gorgeous dapple grey mare. She is 14.1 7/8 hands high.... making her ideal for both children and adults. She is registered Arabian Riding Pony, Riding Pony, EFA and Australian Saddle Pony. She is by the award winning sire; "Courtland Boy Blue" and out of a Crabbet Arabian mare "Jordan Park Vanity Fire", previously owned by Catherine.

"Topaz" is owned and bred by Jane and Annika Lees (clients of Tathren Stud and Riding School), and has been shown with great success at both Halter and Ridden events. She is a keen jumper, and would also make an ideal Pony Dressage prospect. However, she is equally at home passing on her education to her riders.

She is only available for lease as Annika is currently studying overseas. She must be kept at Tathren Stud as her owners know that we provide the highest quality of horse care. There is no lease fee as such; you merely pay her agistment (inclusive of feeding, worming program, rugging according to weather and the use of all facilities at Tathren Stud), shoeing, and teeth. The lease includes:
               Use of her paddock rugs and flymask
               Use of a saddle and bridle

This is a unique chance to become a horse owner; without the huge outlay and setup costs.

A shared lease with Tathren Riding School may also be considered.... as we just love this mare.
